The Mosaic Company is back for the sixth year in a row to lead the way at the Conservation in Action Tour. The tour, organized by the Conservation Technology Information Center (CTIC) will be held near Boise,Idaho on August 23-24. The event is expected to bring 200 farmers, crop consultant, agribusiness leaders, conservation experts, university and extension star, and state and federal representatives together to observe the latest conservation innovation in southwest Idaho.
Idaho farmers produce more than 180 types of crops. To accomplish this they must be on the cutting edge of sustainable practices in irrigation, nutrient and soil management.
“At Mosaic, we want to help farmers sustainably grow more nutritious food and help feed a growing world,” said Ben Pratt, Vice President of Public Affairs at The Mosaic Company. “The Conservation In Action Tour promotes innovative agriculture techniques that produce strong yields while supporting natural resource conservation. We’re proud to continue our support of CTIC’s important work.”
Nancy DeLong, interim executive director of CTIC, said the Center’s relationship with Mosaic has helped the Conservation in Action Tour become a major event in conservation farming circles, bringing together people from every aspect of conservation farming for enriching dialogue on the challenges facing farmers and the solutions emerging to address them.
“The Mosaic Company has been a member and highly active supporter of CTIC for years, and has provided support, expertise and perspective to help farmers, crop advisors and opinion leaders at all levels understand nutrient management practices and other conservation systems,” DeLong said. “Their dedication to the success of the Conservation in Action Tour for the past six years has inspired other companies and organizations to get involved in sponsoring other elements of the tour and has been a model for companies eager to promote not just products, but the practices that make those products sustainable and invaluable.”
