Spring means farmers are getting back in their fields again. The Soil Health Partnership is encouraging growers to take something new to the field with them this year. This farmer-led initiative from the National Corn Growers Association is asking for one hour of time to learn a little more about the soil that will be vital part of every operation.
Soon the program will begin its third summer of field days which focus on sustainable practices that improve the environment and the bottom line. Before those events kick-off, however, United Suppliers is helping bring a field day right into your home or office with a webinar for Iowa farmers. The webinar will focus on Iowa’s progressive water quality leadership and speakers include a farmer currently enrolled in the program.
The webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, March 30 from noon to 1 p.m. central time. Register here.
Speakers include Elyssa McFarland, Soil Health Partnership Field Manager; Sean McMahon, Executive Director, Iowa Agriculture Water Alliance; Wade Kent, a Soil Health Partnership farmer in Algona, Iowa; and Dave Muth, AgSolver.
An initiative of the NCGA, The Soil Health Partnership is funded in part by Monsanto, the Walton Family Foundation, NRCS and the United Soybean Board. Technical support is provided by the Environmental Defense Fund and The Nature Conservancy.
