This year’s FinOvation Award, honoring reader interest in new products, has been given to SOYL for their new precision production app, iSOYL.

iSOYLThe app offers growers a solution that makes variable rate seed or fertilizer application easy and affordable.  iSOYL can work with a variety of controllers to take shape file prescription application maps and connect via an iPad to farm spreaders, sprayers and planters.  The iPad displays full color maps that make navigation clear and simple.  For growers just beginning to step into the world of variable rate technology, this app drastically reduces costs.

Only 21 products were selected to receive the 2016 FinOvation Award from the vast market of new items launched between November 2014 to October 2015.

Simon Parrington, SOYL commercial director said: “We’re proud of SOYL’s record of leading the way with precision crop production in the UK. We have developed a string of ‘first to market’ innovations since 1993 and we’re delighted to receive this recognition.

“iSOYL was created in response to feedback from growers that they wanted to communicate information between the office and the cab better. The app can make a real difference if you are in the tractor cab amending application files on the move or dropping markers to record a point of interest in a particular field for future reference. There’s no need to wait until you return to the office to update records, it can all be done in the cab, on the go, potentially saving time and costs and improving the accuracy of record keeping relating to individual fields,” Parrington said.
